Carrying out data centre work in a live environment is always challenging, but when you are dealing with a listed UK bank, with £32 billion of customer loans and 2.8m customers. Business continuity of critical power supplies was crucial to this project so outages need to be avoided as the commercial downside could be colossal.
PRINCIPAL CONTRACTOR
As Principal Contractor, Servest Arthur McKay was responsible for ensuring that the data centre remained fully operational, 24/7, throughout the PDU replacement programme. This is when Servest Arthur McKay takes the lead, having one of the most experienced data centre teams in the industry. The depth of specialist knowledge and expertise within the team allowed the electrical engineers to plan and project manage the works meticulously, in conjunction with Cushman & Wakefield, to ensure business continuity throughout every phase. Every relevant project risk had to be considered before the robust, phased project plan could be implemented, all done in conjunction with the customer’s IT engineers. This ensured that every step was carried out 100% to their satisfaction.
