Passion for food
After completing his A Levels, Jordan took his first step into the world of work, securing a position at a car dealership. Jordan knew that going to university wasn’t right for him however he wanted a position where he could still learn. Though he enjoyed the role, he could not see himself perusing a career in this company and decided to look for a change. Having had a passion for food and an interest in working in a kitchen since he was at school, Jordan was sure this is where his career would lead.
Starting his apprenticeship
Jordan was introduced to the Hidden Talent programme through a family member who already worked at Servest and recognised it as a great opportunity. Being able to earn whilst learning the skills needed to pursue a career in catering, drew him towards the apprenticeship and he joined Servest in February 2018. In his first few weeks, Jordan was struck by how welcoming and professional everyone was in the company. He was impressed to find that passion and dedication were integral parts of the Servest culture, which made him certain he’d made the right decision to join the company.
Since starting, Jordan has been given additional responsibility, enabling him to improve his skills and allowing him to flourish in his apprenticeship. He has found the areas he enjoys most are working as part of a supportive team and interacting with customers.
Looking to the future
Jordan is keen to build on his successes as he continues to learn and is committed to completing his apprenticeship to a high level. With aspirations to further his career, Jordan is eager to progress within the company, with the possibility of future management opportunities.
“I would recommend doing an apprenticeship through Servest, as it allows you to gain on the job experience and prove yourself, whilst getting to work alongside exceptional people.” – Jordan
