Prior to Servest
On leaving school, Ryan enrolled as an apprentice engineer. It was in this role that Ryan learned the necessary skills to both understand and fit security systems and life safety solutions. Using the knowledge he gained through the apprenticeship, Ryan went on to work in a number of security roles, from engineering to sales. Working his way up the ladder, Ryan progressed into both technical and sales managerial roles, which solidified his all-encompassing knowledge of security systems.
Servest Journey So Far
In May 2015, Ryan joined Servest as an engineering manager, quickly establishing himself in the role through the implementation of a number new initiatives.
After just a year with Servest, Ryan was given the chance to take on the role of head of systems, meaning he could utilise his knowledge of sales as well as his technical ability. Embracing this progressive step, Ryan used it as an opportunity to transform the systems team, moving the focus to the corporate systems market.
Ryan feels he has thrived since taking on the responsibility for the security systems team and credits the team around him for making the challenging role one that is thoroughly enjoyable. The progressive nature of the security division and the opportunity to work with cutting edge technology gives Ryan the chance to keep the team innovative and ever evolving.
Looking to the future
Ryan is enthusiastic about his and his team’s future at Servest, which is set to dramatically grow throughout the coming year. He is also keen to take advantage of the internal development opportunities and has recently enrolled on the ILM accredited Navigator learning and career development programme.
